7. 4 Feet Exit Window was develop in this shop and fitted on AC Coaches

8. ICF Footsteps are being fitted on BEML Coaches by carrying out Modification now it can be interchanged in both ICF and BEML Coaches

9. Fitment of SS inlays in Coach Lavatory with Screw

SS Inlays on coaches are being fitted by means of screws on a plate welded to the side and end panel instead of welding.

Due to this innovation replacement of SS Inlay shall be easy during corrosion repair of coaches.

10. Fitment of Emergency openable window in IInd class Jan Shatabdi Coaches

During the first POH of Jan Shatabdi Coaches, it was observed that they were not provided with emergency exit windows. The same were design and fitted on two coaches at AMV. Photographs are enclosed.

11. Testing Facility for auxiliary reservior

A Portable unit for testing the auxiliary reservoir has been developed and fabricated locally using the WRA of the AC coach. The requirement of testing the reservoir at 10 Kg. pneumatic pressure has been achieved. This has resulted in a saving of approximately Rs. 35,000/-, the cost of procurement of a new compressor.

12. Disposal of Scrap from Shop

630 MT of lead scrap from old batteries accumulated over many years have been handed over the stores department. Expected scrap value is about 82 Lacs. In addition, 125 MT of ferrous scrap also offered to stores department.

13. 20 ton old EOT crane, which had been condemned, has been disposed of during the month of August04.
